This is truly an amazing bike! I am 72 yrs old, 260 lbs, and am recovering from my 4th major leg joint replacement surgery (2 hips, 2 knees - final knee done in January. My heavy weight is due to "forced inactivity" due to pre-surgery pain, surgeries, post-op recovery). Got this bike a little over 1 month ago, have put 140 miles on it despite many days being "too hot to ride," and have begun to loose some un-wanted lbs. I shopped the internet for weeks before finding this bike. I had decided on 3 different ebikes, shifting my choice back and forth multiple times between them each time I read reviews - almost ordered one of the 3 multiple times when I happened on this one. Upon reading about the Omega I thought "This is too good to be true!" Happily, I'm now here to say "IT IS NOT!" I am a very experienced (though fairly aged) bicyclist (racing style, road and gravel style, and mountain bike style) and I am so thankful that I found this one before buying! I love everything about this bike, and am especially enamoured by the automatic shifting (thought I might not like it since I enjoyed shifting on my other bikes) and the customer care department of Evelo! To shorten this story, I LOVE the auto shifting (I'm in awe wondering "How does it do that?"), and continue to receive very thoughtful and helpful correspondence from Evelo personnel! What company does that? I also LOVE the looks, build, upright riding posture (wasn't so sure about that one either until I rode it), read-out display, near silent belt drive - EVERYTHING! Though I've been concentrating hard to find something not quite to my liking, it ain't happened yet! Thank you, folks at Evelo! My sincere advice - GET THIS BIKE!!
Great Ebike. Most fun riding with the hot wind blowing at your face and enjoying the sunlight!
Done 250 miles on the bike. Per my fitness monitor getting just as much exercise but avoiding excessive heart rate when riding up hill, into wind or going fast to meet a deadline. Only extras are thud buster and cloud 9 saddle.
The saddle bag and rear rack are excellent. Also have dog carrier for handlebars.
I get 60 miles out of the standard battery no problem but usually use pas 1 or 2 In pas 5 iwould probably get 1/2 that based on experimenting with the settings.
Am riding my Omega maybe once a week as I recuperate from knee replacement surgery. It’s my therapy machine. In the 7 rides that I have taken I have gone from 3 to 21 miles. I have not ridden a bike for almost 30 years. At this point I cannot exert much effort on the pedals. With the e-assist it’s like being a normal rider. Have yet to feel gassed during or after a ride. Not bad for a 66 year old 40# overweight cripple just 3 months out of knee replacement surgery with the other knee in line in a couple of months. The Enviolo tranny is just flat awesome. Easy to set up with the app and I am very tech handicapped. Kept it very near it’s default setting. Just get on and ride. With the assist there is no effort required at all pedaling at low speed. To speed up just add a little effort and the tranny seamIessly slips into a higher ratio as you gain speed and off you go. I only need level 2 assist on mostly level trails 15 mph max and level 3 for roads. I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of ratio range that the Enviolo CVT has. I have mostly ridden Iron Horse Trail and Cull Canyon road (I know one of you are familiar with the East Bay), however, the East Bay Parks has just approved over 850 miles of park trails for class I e-bikes with paved sections allowed for class II. That’s big news! Looking forward to explore new areas as my knees allow. I would not be able to do this on a regular bike.
The mid drive and automatic transmission on this bike is a game changer! It's quiet and powerful, no hills (yet) I couldn't climb. I have a little over 200 miles on it, so still early in my ownership, but along with the torque, speed, and cadence sensors, it makes it very much like riding a non ebike, only with bionic legs! I had to add suspension seat post and handlebar suspension, since this bike didn't come with them. It also didn't come with the 4 hole pattern on the front handlebar post that many bikes have for bolting on a front basket. That is something I would have loved to have and cannot add. It is a great bike however. Support has answered all my questions and they have many help videos to reference. Thank you Evelo!
